Thet Htar Myint is a distinguished scholar and consultant, holding dual Master’s degrees in Science from Yangon University and Gender and Development Studies from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). She also got diplomas in English and Thai languages from YU and YUFL, alongside numerous other relevant short-term training and development qualifications.

With over twelve years of teaching experience at Yangon University and Lashio College during the 1990s, Thet Htar Myint transitioned to the development sector with Metta Development Foundation. After earning her second Master's degree from AIT, she served as a Social and Community Research Specialist at TEAM Consulting Engineering and Management PCL in Bangkok for three years.

Upon returning to her home country, Thet Htar Myint has established herself as an experienced national consultant well-versed in major infrastructure projects and the necessary ADB/IFC social safeguards. She regularly collaborates with international organizations such as the ADB, IFC, World Bank, WFP, WWF, INGOs including NIRAS as a National Facilitator, Social Safeguards, Gender and Social Development Fields. Her expertise has led her to work extensively across Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand, making significant contributions to the field of social and community development.

Director (Aquaculture)

Dr. Mie Mie Sein holds B.Sc. (Hons), M.Sc. in Zoology, and PhD in Aquaculture managements from Yangon University. She has also received a Certificate of Achievement from the ASEAN-Korea Green Partnership Program, awarded in 2012 at Yonsei University, Korea. In 2016, she participated in the Erasmus+ International Staff Mobility Program at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna, Austria, funded by the European Union.

From 2007 to 2016, Dr. Mie Mie Sein served as a Professor and Head of the Zoology Department at Mandalay University. During this time, she collaborated with foreign universities on curriculum design, supported by the European Union. She chaired the PhD program and supervised 45 PhD candidates at Mandalay University. Since 2014, she has been involved in the MYFish program, a WorldFish project aimed at improving research and development in Myanmar's inland and coastal fisheries, funded by ACIAR in Australia. Additionally, she is a member of the ASEAN Fisheries Education Network in the MYSAP Meets Universities project, funded by WorldFish and GIZ.

Dr. Mie Mie Sein has also served as Pro-Rector at Mawlamyine University since 2017 and has extensive experience in environmental conservation and aquaculture management. She has collaborated with Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and Quang Binh University in Vietnam on projects funded by Siam Cement Group Public Company Limited (SCG). Her research focuses on wetland biodiversity and aquaculture farming, involving partnerships between Mawlamyine University and universities in China, such as Yunnan University and Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Furthermore, Dr. Mie Mie Sein is a consultant and contact person for the MuEuCAP project, funded by the European Commission, which aims to modernize, internationalize, and improve the accessibility of environmental protection curricula in Myanmar's higher education sector. Since 2017, she has organized numerous symposia and workshops at Mawlamyine University. She has significant experience in research related to biodiversity, ecosystem management, global change impacts, mangrove conservation, aquaculture management, and fisheries science.

U Kyaw Lwin boasts over 25 years of experience working in various agricultural fields within the NGOs and private sectors. His expertise encompasses “Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture, Conservation Agriculture, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Integrated Farming Systems, Sustainable Agriculture Systems, Risk Management, Ecosystem Management etc.

U Kyaw Lwin wears two hats: as an agricultural specialist consultant, he strengthens the resilience of local communities, and as a key trainer, he shares his knowledge of climate-smart agriculture in Vocational Skill Development Programs.

U Kyaw Lwin possesses extensive experience in seed production (rice, corn, sesame, peas, beans, etc.). He excels in both contract farming with local farmers for seed production and the seed registration process required for successful seed marketing. He is a strong advocate for farmer participation in various crop production methods, promoting food safety and nutrition-sensitive farming practices, integrated pest management (IPM) and effective water usage in dry season.

Dr. Wah Wah Htun is a seasoned professional dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture, climate-smart practices, and integrated farming systems. Her expertise encompasses value chain and market system development, microfinance, rural development, marketing & trade, risk management, natural ecosystem management, and humanitarian work. Dr Wah Wah Htun boasts a successful track record of collaboration with international and national NGOs such as GIZ, Particip GmbH, World Vision Myanmar, WFP, IDE-JETRO, MFVP, Golden Plain, and MIID.

Her vast experience covers baseline, mid-term, and end-line evaluations, value chain analysis, and development projects focusing on market systems, food security, livelihood development and security, gender and disability inclusion, income generation, and agricultural development.

She excels in utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods, effectively employing participatory approaches and assessments. She is skillful at crafting concept notes and proposals, managing program development and implementation, creating team building, and expanding professional networks. Additionally, she possesses strong capacity-building skills.

Dr. Wah Wah Htun has a strong academic background, having obtained a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (B.Agr.Sc) from Yezin Agricultural University (YAU) in 1995. She then pursued a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics (MS (Agricultural Economics)) from the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) in 2008, with a scholarship awarded by SEAMEO-SEARCA. Her academic journey reached its pinnacle with a Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Economics (PhD (Agricultural Economics)) from YAU in 2016, with a research grant awarded by ACIAR.

Dr. Myo Kywe is a distinguished professional specializing in policy advocacy, strategy development, and research in agricultural development, higher education, and vocational education. His extensive career includes roles as a Professor and Rector (President) at Yezin Agriculture University, as well as a researcher and chairman of the National Education Policy Commission of the government of Myanmar. His diverse interests encompass agronomy, agricultural policy development, farming systems, higher education, and vocational education.

Dr. Kywe's academic background is impressive: he graduated in Agricultural Science from Yezin Agriculture University, Myanmar, in 1979; earned a Master of Agricultural Studies in Crop Science from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 1989; and completed a doctorate in Crop Agronomy from the University of Kassel, Germany, in 2006. Throughout his career at Yezin Agriculture University (YAU), he was dedicated and committed, eventually retiring as Rector in 2018.

His expertise includes agronomy, agroecology, crop physiology, farming systems (crop-livestock integration), cropping systems, agricultural policy, technical and vocational education (TVET), higher education, university management, research methods, participatory agricultural extension and training, and coordination and management with organizations such as KOICA, JICA, ACIAR, and FAO.

Following his retirement, Dr. Kywe has engaged in consultancy work in agroecology and agroforestry for organizations like the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and has participated in projects such as disaster risk management assessment and project intervention elaboration with GIZ, and dry zone projects with IIRR. As an advisor, he has contributed to curriculum development for the agricultural sector under initiatives like scaling-up agroforestry in the ASEAN region for food security and environmental benefits, strengthening sustainable livelihoods in Kachin State and Northern Shan State in Myanmar with World Vision, and the community training and distribution plan for biosecurity kits with FAO.

Currently, Dr. Kywe serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees at the University of Texila, Advisor of Gold Myanmar Future Light (GMFL), Technical Advisor at MyanSEED Agribusiness Consultancy Ltd., and Chief Advisor at Golden Plain Livelihood Development Service Co-op Ltd. in Yangon.

Dr Myint Lwin (Consultant)

Dr. Myint Lwin was born on November 11, 1956, and received a bachelor's degree in agriculture in 1978 from Yezin Agricultural University. In 1994, he received a master's degree from Yezin Agricultural University, specializing in plant pathology. In 2006, he received a doctorate degree in agricultural microbiology from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.
He has over 40 years of experience in the food and agriculture sector, including rural development, and 15 years of experience in development projects, including environmental issues.
In 1978, he worked in Madaya Township as a farm manager, and after about four years, he transferred to Yezin Agricultural University. After writing over 10 research papers at the university and serving there for more than 30 years, he moved to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 2014 as a National Expert. He then moved to the World Food Programme (WFP) and served as the National Facilitator of the United Nations Network for Food and Nutrition Security. In addition to working in such UN organizations, he also worked as a National Consultant to support the Ministry of Agriculture for the operation of the Myanmar Agricultural Development Strategy Project, which was undertaken by the EU.
Dr. Myint Lwin has served as an Agriculture Expert at the Myanmar Institute for Integrated Development (MIID) and as a Program Director at Helen Keller International (HKI), two major International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs). For many years, he worked as a technical consultant for local NGOs such as Myanmar Agro Action (MAA), Renewable Energy Association Myanmar (REAM), Dear Myanmar, and the Food Security Working Group (FSWG), among others.
In 2006, he became a member of the Myanmar Academy of Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock and Fishery Science. In collaboration with this academy, the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), and the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association (MFFVPEA), he led the establishment of the first Myanmar Organic Agriculture Movement. This initiative focused on the promotion of organic technology and the issuance of organic certification, which continues to be carried out to this day.
He has been collaborating with international organizations such as EM Research Organization, the Asian Pacific Natural Agriculture Network, and the International Natural Farming Research Center, Japan, and is acting as a technical advisor to organic agriculture and fertilizer production companies.
In 2008, he was awarded the 'Excellent Performance in Agricultural Field (Third Class)' by the State Council of the Government of Myanmar.
Currently, he works as a consultant for some organic fertilizer production companies, organic farms, and NGOs.
